After moving into a small house hidden behind a sea of Bushwick apartments, Justin, Jarvis, Christian and Jeremy wrote and recorded the I Was Born at Night EP. They spent the next two years touring the states and working on their other projects (Wooden Wand, Woods). At the end of 2006, with a batch of new songs ready, they recorded Strangers In Our House at home and The Civil Defense studios with Jeremy Scott (Mahogany). Strangers finds Meneguar further skewing their caffeinated take on indie rock and landing somewhere between Mission of Burma and the Replacements.
